Wasn't my idea, but I used to use livereload and sass from the command line. I had a script that pointed apache at a directory, then went in to it, ran sass, opened a new tab in iTerm ran livereload, then opened another and tailed the PHP error log. It was kinda good because the errors from LR, SASS and PHP appeared in the tabs I ran each application in. I had to abandon that because I couldn't get LR running on a newer version of OSX. I'm not unhappy with LR now, but wasn't that bothered about having the GUI for what is really a runner for a collection of cli apps.
