  1. Use system compiler instead of built-in compiler

I keep running into problems with LiveReload unable to load/compile some compass plugins.

You should give an option for users to use their own compilers and various plugins they might have on their system to avoid these sort of problem.

    • Automatically minify CSS files generated from LESS

I didn't find this feature, it would be helpful if LiveReload could automatically minify the CSS files generated with LESS.

It speeds up page loading times.

      What do you think?

      • Using LiveReload to compress PNG and JPG files.

When viewing the file extensions that LiveReload "supports", it mentions PNG and JPG files, but nothing in the documentation or in this feedback forum tells you how to work with them.

Could you please write a quick article on how to setup automatic compression of these file types?

              • Compile partial Sass files even when they are imported

I have modules with their own independent SCSS files. I also have layouts which include modules their SCSS files and have their own SCSS files.

Once my layout SCSS imports my module's SCSS and changes are made to that module's SCSS file a module CSS file is not output within the module folder. Instead the 'parent' layout SCSS (with the import rules) is re-compiled. Meaning that my module's css file is not updated but instead my layout file is.

                • Have various sass versions to complile with

I need some of the features of sass 3.2 (alpha) but live reload seems to be independent of the versions on my system and use it's on internal version. The ability to choose or at least specify the system version on compile would be handy :)

                  • RVM gemset support

I would quite desperately like some support for RVM (https://rvm.io/) gemsets.

I don't understand why LiveReload detects RVM's rubies, but completely ignores the point of using RVM, which is the power of gemsets.

                    • Support Sass @debug and @warn directives

LiveReload doesn't support the Sass @debug and @warn directives. Compass runs as expected but no output/errors are generated.

                          • More sophisticated compile/exclude rules

I have a main style.scss file and a bunch of 'module' files in module/*.scss. There are then @import'd into the main stylesheet. The modules folder is excluded from compilation as I do not want a .css file for each module.

If I make a change to a module, I have to save both the module and the main file to force a recompile and a browser refresh. That's getting increasingly frustrating.

It would be great to be able to say 'dont create a .css file for <file>, but do recompile <file>'

                            • Support for Literate CoffeeScript (since 1.5+)

CoffeeScript 1.5 now supports two new file extensions: `.litcoffee` and `.coffee.md`, which are parsed as Literate CoffeeScript (http://coffeescript.org/#literate). I'd like Live Reload's CoffeeScript compiler to be upgraded to the latest version, then (currently 1.6.1), and to watch files with the new extensions too.

                              • Support adding user-defined compilers

Alternative title: user-defined commands to be run for changes to files with specific extensions.

This is probably far more complicated than it sounds by the way I'm describing it, but it'd be nice (the key words) to be able to associate one or more extensions with a user-defined compiler.

For example, if I wanted to associate the .adc extension with asciidoc and run that compiler with specific commands for a specific project (that's not actually its extension, by the way), currently the only way to do this is to use the one-and-only command I get to run for a project…

Sometimes I made stupid syntax error than made LESS compilation fail. Would be cool to get some kind of no obtrusive alert (like growl).

                                    • Indicate CoffeeScript, Sass, etc. compiler versions somewhere in app UI

It's uncertain what compiler versions Live Reload is using. When I discovered that Live Reload 2.3.21 did not support Literate CoffeeScript (introduced in CoffeeScript 1.5), I became unsure what version of CoffeeScript it *did* currently support. It would be nice if the app UI indicated somewhere what compilers it was using for CoffeeScript, Sass, etc.

eg :border-radius to -moz-border-radius -webkit- and more.

                                        • Have default src --> public compile folders

Let me specify 2 folders, one 'source' and one 'output'. Then, compile all files in src/ into their same spot in output/

                                          So, if I have
                                          src/js/app.coffee
                                          src/js/helpers/forms.coffee
                                          src/stylesheets/styles.less

                                          This gets compiled into
                                          public/js/app.js
                                          public/js/helpers/forms.js
                                          public/stylesheets/styles.less

Isn't this how most sane people structure their code? Doing this now is a huge pain, since I have to set output directories for every sub-directory I have
